Who is Jane?

Jane leads LearnLaunch, a Boston-based education non-profit, as its President and Executive Director. She served for fifteen years in state government, including holding the offices of Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation, and State Senator. Since leaving public office, She has held roles as a chief executive officer; a board chair, member, and committee chair to public, private, and not-for-profit institutions; an adviser to entrepreneurial education companies; and as a partner in a venture capital fund. She serves on a number of boards, including serving as the non-executive Chair of GSM, Global School Management, an investment platform of Safanad building a global business providing high-quality education to students around the world; Suburban Propane (SPH), a publicly-traded propane distribution company; and of Climb Credit, an alternative student lender. In her spare time, she lives on the family farm where her late husband, Chuck, grew up. She is currently navigating life as the working mother to nearly grown daughters Elizabeth, Lauren & Sarah. She currently shares the farm with their rescue pup, Bubba, and their pandemic Akita 'puppy', Bucky. Jane rejects the label of widowhood and instead prefers to embrace the concept of a Black Swan.
