Take care! Heal quickly (from the broken bones). My first day at Trinity I was basically wearing garanimals—- white shirt with multi colored stars and red pull on pants with white piping. And basketball sneakers way before the days when “girls” wore those.

Your memory made me laugh!

Having lived all over the world with my husband and family , moving into new school cultures and new countries , I experienced over and over again “that being different feeling.” In Williamstown, where I met you , almost everyone that was “mommies” in my daughter or son’s friend circles went to Williams or worked at Williams. I think being and feeling different is more human than we know.

I totally understand and can relate to your feelings of isolation. Having moved to a new community 18 years ago, leaving my friends and my sister behind, I have never quite established the ties one does when one has kids in school and work outside the home. There are many lonely moments for a person “from another world” Fortunately, Kaylie lives with us so that is a great help. Thank you for sharing your story, Jane. I have always appreciated your”uniqueness”, and I still do.
