As a dad, that really gives me pause. I think every father hopes these are the sort of sentiments his daughter will have when he is gone. Lovely piece.

Thanks for sharing this, Lauren. (Iโ€™m way behind with my blog post readings .) The need for these traditions/ rituals is understanding โ€” so grounding at a time of becoming untethered. There are prayers / poems / recollections that I turn to when Iโ€™m need of comfort & grounding and they are always tied to people or memories who flood my spirit with love. Chuck was steady โ€” full of love & grounding & comfort. I hope you continue to remember those bed- time โ€œtuck- ins.โ€ ๐Ÿ’œ
